Track Clearance 2025   – click on a photo to enlarge

North Somerset Council is planning for the disused section of the line to have its vegetation kept at ground level over the summer as part of the reptile and amphibian mitigations. The low levels of vegetation also allow the engineering and ecology teams to carry out the various surveys that are required pre-construction. Enabling works on the existing bridges over the line will happen this summer as they need to be strengthened prior to the main construction activity. The bridges can be home to bats so NSC needs to ensure that they are safely relocated under licence before any works which may disturb them can commence.
